Arrival of electric kiln - March 2019
With the arrival of a two-phase electric kiln, glazing and firing of decorative pieces becomes within reach for the Twantay potters.
Training on loading, off-loading and operation commences and will continue, as there is a lot to learn on effective and safe electric kiln use.
Hosting Hla Day team for a day - July 2019
Twantay pottery products are for sale at a not-for-profit social enterprise art and crafts shop Hla Day in Yangon, Myanmar.
Staff and management of Hla Day came for a visit to the Twantay potters and were introduced to the world of clay. They tried making their own products and met the potters in their pottery sheds for a demonstration of pottery throwing.
Certificates for all - August 2019
All participating potters received a certificate after completing the 18-month workshop in new techniques and designs, glazing, occupational health, kiln use, marketing, packaging and sales.
